Are you a mother or soon-to-be mother in North Carolina who feels that your social, emotional, or informational needs are not being met during your pregnancy? Here’s a unique opportunity to make your voice heard and contribute to reshaping maternal health systems for the better!

About the AMMI Workshop for Moms

MAAME, Inc., in collaboration with leading experts from Wake Forest University, UNC, and Duke University, is hosting the AMMI Workshop for Moms. This workshop is designed to bring together amazing women and birthing people to re-imagine pregnancy safety and clinic communication systems. The ultimate goal? To uplift the voices of Moms of Color in North Carolina and ensure that their needs are accurately represented in maternal health interventions.

Workshop Goals

The AMMI Workshop aims to achieve three key objectives:

1. Understand Pregnant Women’s Needs:
We believe that great listening is the foundation of effective systems. This workshop is dedicated to understanding the specific needs of pregnant women so that we can build systems that truly work for you.

2. Accurately Represent Maternal Health and Risks:
It is crucial to prioritize the prevention, protection, and treatment of maternal health risks. This workshop will focus on creating solutions that accurately reflect the realities faced by women and birthing people in our community.

3. Improve Communication Between Women and Clinics:
Building trust and supporting women in navigating the healthcare system is essential. This workshop will explore ways to enhance communication between women and clinics to ensure that every mother receives the care and support she needs.
