For eligible Durham County resident MAAME, Inc. has FREE sponsored services for 100 BIPOC birthing over 2-years. Families who don’t qualify, will still be able to access services at a sliding scale, as long services are still available.
MAAME, Inc’s “It Takes A Village” Perinatal Health community-driven model provides Black, Indigenous, and other Birthing People of Color and those in need access to community-driven perinatal services to support individuals and families from birth and beyond.
This program is open to 100 eligible Durham country birthing residents who identify as BIPOC; high risk or at risk for a high-risk pregnancy; and who have other social determinants of health needs.
Participants will get access to support for up to 24 months between pregnancy and postpartum. Participants not eligible will be able to receive services at a sliding scale
Mental Health Support is provided to birthing people with children ages 0-5. Clients receiving the service will be triaged between three tiers of treatment depending on the frequency and level of intervention personalization. All mental health support is delivered by trained mental health specialists.
*Participants in MAAME’s You Matter Maternal Mental Health & Wellness program will receive between 6-9 individual mental health sessions based on their intake assessment. Services will be provided by a trained by a behavioral health peer support specialist or a clinical LCSW..
Embrace a fulfilling breastfeeding journey with our Mocha Milk Club Lactation Clinic. Specializing in compassionate, expert lactation advice and resources, we’re here to support, empower, and guide new parents in nurturing their babies.
MAAME’s Lactation Clinic is available to all new parents in need of lactation support. The clinic is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10am to 3pm. Walk-in are welcome. The Mocha Milk Club Peer Support Group is also open to all pregnant and postpartum families. We meet virtually the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7pm and the 4th Saturday of the month in-person at 10:30am. Please email lactationteam@maameinc.org for more information.
